For Leeds, Gary Speed came on for Jim Beglin at Left Back after seventeen minutes and Ray Wallace replaced Jon Newsome at Right Back in the thirtieth minute. Mervyn Day replaced John Lukic in goal at Half-Time, along with Carl Shutt who replaced Lee Chapman at Centre Forward, Imre Varadi who replaced Eric Cantona at Inside Left, and Gary McAllister who replaced Dylan Kerr at Outside Left. David Batty also replaced David Wetherall at half-time and it was he that got the only Leeds goal with a long range effort in the seventy-eighth minute. For Liverpool, Don Hutchison replaced Ian Rush at Centre Forward. Stephen Lodge of Barnsley was the Referee.
